京都には，西陣織や京友禅など，日本が世界に誇る和装産業・和装文化が発展してきました。しかし，近年，生活様式や経済情勢の変化により和装の需要低迷が続いています。また，それに伴って，きものや帯などに利用されてきた京都が有する優れたデザインの需要も低迷しています。
本ホームページは，それらの優れたデザインを広く国内外へ発信し，和装に限らない幅広い産業製品全般への利用を促進することを目的として，京都市や社団法人日本図案家協会などが平成20年から実施している取組「京都デザイン活用プロジェクト」を具体化するものとして開設したものです。

About this website

Kyoto is a home for traditional Japanese textile, clothing industry and its culture, including Nishijin woven textile and Kyo Yuzen dyed textile. However, due to a dramatic changing life style and economical situation, sadly, the demand of traditional Japanese textile and clothing has been decreasing. Besides, great designs of Kyoto’s traditional kimono or obi sashes are in crisis as well.
This website aims to show widely excellent designs from Kyoto and let people use them in not only traditional Japanese clothing industry, but also in other different industries. To achieve that goal, “Kyoto Design Utilizing Project” has started in 2008 by Kyoto City, Japan Designers Association and other organizations.

プロジェクトの実施体制

「京都デザイン活用プロジェクト」は，京都市のほか，デザイン提供等を行う社団法人日本図案家協会，西陣織工業組合及びＮＰＯ日本染織意匠保護協会などの和装関連団体，システム開発・デザイン活用等について協力する京都大学，京都市立芸術大学及び京都工芸繊維大学，システム開発を行う財団法人京都高度技術研究所から構成される「京都デザイン活用プロジェクト協議会」において運営を行っています。

Operation of the Project

“Kyoto Design Utilizing Project” is managed by “Kyoto Design Utilizing Project Association”. The association consists of the following organizations: Kyoto City, traditional Japanese clothing related organizations for providing designs (Japan Designers Association, Nishijin Textile Industrial Association, NPO Japan Copyright Association of Textile Design), universities for system development and design utilization (Kyoto University, Kyoto City University of Arts, Kyoto Institute of Technology) and Advanced Software Technology & Mechatronics Research Institute of Kyoto for system development.

地域ICT利活用モデル構築事業

「京都デザイン活用プロジェクト」は，地域経済の活性化等，各地域が抱える課題について，ＩＣＴ（情報通信技術：Information and Communication Technology）の利活用を通じて，その解決を促進するためのモデル的取組を国（総務省）が地方自治体等へ委託する「地域ＩＣＴ利活用モデル構築事業」として実施しています。

Project of Local ICT Application Model Formulation

“Kyoto Design Utilizing Project” is designated as a model project of “Local ICT Application Model Formulation” from the national government (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications). It is a project which the national government delegates application of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to local governments to revitalize the local economy or to solve local problems.
